Why take singing lessons?
Singing needs – like every instrument – a well-grounded knowledge that makes it possible to treat and to use your voice in the right way, without making serious mistakes.
Just being in tune doesn’t mean that you are a singer. Singing means much more than this! During the singing lessons you will learn and practice many different topics such as voice training (voice modulation, pulsation, vibrato etc.), pitch, articulation, diction, breathing, stage performance, song interpretation and much more.

What is the concept of The heART of Music?
The heART of Music is a complete singing lessons method: the technique is the basis and the way of achieving the artist expression, with great respect for our body and our wellness. Almost always we can find the answers to our questions within ourselves and we can find them through someone else who helps us to open our eyes (and ears). Through techniques as visualisation and relaxation we are able to learn easier and more effectively.

“My body is my instrument" is the motto that is always ever present in my lessons.

What is the singing triangle?

These three elements are decisive for a good singing technique. If the three are in a good balance, they guarantee a perfect and interesting performance. In my lessons we will deal with and train every one of these topics.

What is the meaning of "right singing technique”?
A right singing technique assures a conscious use of the voice respecting our body and avoiding damage to the voice or to the body parts that are responsible for the voice e.g. the larynx or vocal cords. The basis for a good singing technique is the right breathing technique.

Why are stage performance and artist development an important part of the lessons?
Why should we learn a good singing technique if we are not able to present ourself on stage and offer a good show? That’s why I also deal with other topics, as well as pitch and breathing for example, such as song interpretation giving importance to the single personality and artist development.
Other topics are among others:

  • Choice of repertoire
  • Microphone-technique
  • Band teamwork
  • Speaking and presentation technique
  • Relaxation techniques against stage fright

Why is the right breathing technique also good for our health?
Technique alone doesn’t mean everything, it doesn’t mattter if you sing, talk or play a wind instrument. But the right breathing technique makes it possible to get the maximum from your voice, to avoid mistakes and to quickly gain a good and firm sound. The right breathing technique boosts our health.
Here are some positive effects:

  • Our organs are massaged through the movement of our diaphragm. In this way they improve their functions
  • The heart that is conjuncted to the diaphragm gets help and support in its job as a pump. We have better blood circulation.
  • The lungs are better ventilated
  • The oxygen supply and the expellation of carbon dioxide are improved

What is the meaning of AAP®? What does this technique imply?
AAP® is the abbreviation from the German and means Phonation Adapted to the Breathing Rhythm. This method was developed in Austria by Prof. Dr. Horst Coblenzer and Prof. Dr. Franz Muhar in the 60s. When we say phonation we mean the sound production when we sing or talk. When we speak or sing on the rhythm of our breathing means that we speak or sing in accordance with our current breathing. Through AAP® we learn to speak and to sing in an economic, authentic, effective and always goal-oriented way.

Can speaking and singing techniques help us to boost our self-esteem?
A good speaking technique is the basis of a good singing technique. In my lessons I place a lot of importance on the articulation and to a good posture during singing and speaking. These factors improve our self assurance when we speak or sing in front of an audience. They help the audience to believe that in front of them there is a self assured and confident person. We can benefit from this in our professional and private lives.
